Our leather sofas and chairs come in genuine and faux leather, as 2 seaters, 3 seaters, corners and armchairs. Nearly all of them recline. A piece's own page names which leather it uses, under Specification. Not sure between genuine and faux? Use the Material filter, and check the upholstery line on each product page.

Choosing a leather sofa

Genuine, bonded or faux

Genuine leather is cut from hide and softens with use. Bonded leather is made from leather fibres bonded to a backing, so it costs less but does not age the same way. Faux leather and PU are synthetic coverings made to look like leather. Use the Upholstery filter to find pieces listed as bonded, faux or PU, and each product page lists the primary material and the upholstery.

Recliner or fixed seat

Almost every leather piece here reclines, and most of those are electric. Leave space in front for the footrest and a gap behind the back. The product pages here give no reclined depth, so allow extra room.

Will it fit?

Most leather pieces here are under 200cm wide, which suits smaller living rooms. Use our fit checker to compare your room with each sofa and think through doorways and stairs, then measure them before you order.

Common questions

How can I tell which leather a sofa is made from?

Open the Specification tab on its product page. Primary material reads Genuine Leather or Faux Leather, and Upholstery adds detail, such as Bonded Leather or PU. Where Upholstery says only Leather, the primary material is Genuine Leather on every piece here. If a description says something different, ask us before you order.

How do I clean a leather sofa?

Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid household cleaners. Use a leather conditioner on genuine leather every few months. Check the care label first, and test anything new on a hidden area.

Do leather recliners need a plug socket?

Electric recliners need a mains socket within reach of the cable. Manual recliners need no power. Nineteen of the 24 reclining pieces here are electric and five are manual, and the Specification tab names the mechanism on each.
