We use the width, depth and height the manufacturer gives for each sofa, compare those dimensions with the space you give us, and rule out any sofa that is bigger than your available room measurements.

We also allow a small amount of clearance rather than assuming every wall, skirting board and measurement is exact.

Where a manufacturer hasn’t supplied a sofa’s width, we leave that sofa out rather than guess. Where a depth or height you asked about is missing, we tell you that dimension wasn’t checked instead of treating it as a full check.

For corner and U-shaped sofas, we’ll show the relevant dimensions so you can check the configuration against the way the sofa will sit in your room.

Room fit and delivery access are two different things. We’ll ask about doorways, hallways, stairs and other access points to help you think through how the sofa would reach the room.

Measure the maximum usable width and depth of the space where you want your sofa to sit. Consider anything that reduces usable space, including radiators, doors and their opening paths, existing furniture, cabinets and walkways.

For corner and U-shaped sofas, check the dimensions of each side against the way you intend to position the sofa.
